Premiere Pro Transitions Guide

Method 01: Drag and Drop Transitions Directly from the Project Panel

1. Expand the Project Folder to access the Transitions.

    - The project includes a variety of transitions, each organized into its own folder.
    - Each folder contains the main transition and its corresponding artifact placeholder.

    - Transition: This is the main transition effect.
    - Placeholder: This is the artifact placeholder associated with the transition.

2. Disable Insert and Override Sequences Option:
    - Locate the option (Insert and Override Sequences as Nests or Individual Clips) under the timecode in the timeline panel, to the left of the magnet icon.
    - Turn off this option.

3. Disable Source Patching and Track Targeting:
    - In the timeline panel, find the Source Patching and Track Targeting options (labeled V1, V1, V2, V2, etc.) on the left side of the timeline.
    - Ensure the labels are deselected (they should appear grey, not highlighted blue). To do this, simply click on each labeled V1, V1, V2, V2, etc.
    - Make sure source patching for inserts and overrides is disabled.
    - Ensure track targeting for all tracks in your timeline is also disabled.

4. Drag and Drop Transitions:
    - Drag the desired transition from the project panel.
    - Drop the transition onto your clip or footage in the timeline.
    - Adjust the transition layers along the timeline so that the cut is.
    - Each transition has matching placeholder(s) in the project panel.
    - Find the placeholder with the corresponding transition number, open it, and replace the placeholder with your desired video or image.	


Method 02: Copy Paste From "Preview"

1. Expand the Project Folder and open the "Preview" Clip in Timeline.

    - In the timeline panel, locate the set of transition clips.
    - Select the desired clips and copy them.
    - Paste the copied clips into your timeline.
    - Adjust the transition layers along the timeline so that the cut is.
    - Make sure source patching for inserts and overrides is disabled.
    - Ensure track targeting for all tracks in your timeline is also disabled.
     - Each transition has matching placeholder(s) in the project panel.
    - Find the placeholder with the corresponding transition number, open it, and replace the placeholder with your desired video or image.
